Introduction

  • Spread material on rockwool slabs or in application boxes (DIBOX)
  • Make sure the material remains at its introduction site for a few days

Environmental conditions
Efficacy reduces at high temperatures (greater than 30°C).

Storage and handling
Biological beneficials have a very short life expectancy and therefore need to be introduced into the crop as soon as possible after receipt. Storing them for a period can have a negative impact on their quality and is only possible under the conditions described below.

  • - Storage after receipt: 1-2 days
  • - Storage temperature: 8-10°C/47-50°F
  • - In the dark

Appearance
Adults: black
Other stages: develop inside host

Mode of action
Female adult parasitic wasp parasitizes the aphids.

Visual effect
Parasitized aphid swells and hardens into a leathery, grey or brown coloured mummy. The adult parasitic wasp emerges through a round hole at the rear of the mummy. The first mummies can be seen in the crop approximately 2 weeks after the first introduction.
